About our Farm
& Pygmy Goats
With over eight years of dedicated Pygmy goat breeding and a lifetime immersed in animal husbandry, our journey is rooted in care, connection, and curiosity. We celebrate regenerative farming practices and hold deep affection for this charming and resilient breed, whose playful spirit continues to inspire everything we do.
Pygmy Goats
Pygmy goats are a small, hardy, and incredibly charming breed known for their affectionate nature and playful personalities. Originally from West Africa, they’ve adapted beautifully to farm life in Australia and make wonderful companions for those with the space, time, and heart to care for them properly.
Despite their compact size, Pygmies are full of character — curious, social, and intelligent. They thrive in the company of other goats and form strong bonds within their herd. With proper fencing, shelter, and a safe environment to explore, Pygmy goats bring endless joy, laughter, and connection to the land they call home.
These goats are not only adorable but also make excellent pets, especially for families and animal lovers seeking gentle, interactive animals. Their friendly nature makes them easy to bond with, and their small size means they’re more manageable than larger livestock. On farms, they contribute to land care by gently browsing undergrowth, and they integrate beautifully into small-scale, regenerative systems.
Whether you're looking to grow a hobby farm, create a loving pet-friendly paddock, or simply share life with animals that bring warmth and wonder to every day, Pygmy goats are a delightful and rewarding addition to the right home.
Meet Deb
Deb Heyes is the heart and hands behind our Pygmy goat herd — a devoted breeder, lifelong animal lover, and passionate custodian of the land. With over eight years of experience in breeding Pygmy goats and a lifetime immersed in animal husbandry, Deb’s approach is rooted in care, intuition, and deep respect for the animals she raises. Alongside her life partner Christian (fondly known as Krispy), she stewards their Mornington Peninsula property using regenerative practices that honour the rhythms of the land and the wellbeing of every creature on it.
Deb’s passion lies not only in raising happy, healthy goats, but also in fostering meaningful connections between animals, people, and place. She brings a holistic approach to farming — one that sees each goat not just as livestock, but as a sentient being deserving of love, safety, and joy. Her work is guided by a genuine belief that ethical, heart-led animal care can shape more conscious, connected communities — one hoofed friend at a time.
The Farm
Tucked away on 20 peaceful acres in Dromana, on beautiful Bunurong Country, our farm is a sanctuary for animals, people, and the land itself. For the past 16 years, Deb and Krispy have lovingly tended this space as caretakers, nurturing not only the animals who call it home but also the health and spirit of the land. Their approach is one of deep listening, respect, and regeneration — allowing nature to guide the way while gently supporting its rhythms.
The farm is home to a joyful mix of creatures: playful Pygmy goats, one wise Alpaca guardian, gentle horses, soulful Irish Wolfhounds, and a chorus of native birds that bring life to the trees each morning. Every inch of the land is held with intention and care — from the paddocks and pastures to the quiet pockets of bush where wildlife find refuge. It’s a place where animals are free to be themselves, and where humans are invited to reconnect with the slower, more meaningful pace of life that farming with heart can offer.
